Reflecting
How to improve my essay writing
I need to talk about the research I have gone through and link this to the questions and also write about the movies or music I have reached and in and how that help me to develop my idea. Write more examples and write each paragraph in PEE. I also need to use more media terminology. Plan before I start my essay. When i am talking about light and sound and etc I should be giving examples of movies and music video I looked into to about these during my research.
Feedback- my feedback was about to gives examples of movies when i am talking about the codes and conventions and linking the specific films i researched and how this can applied to my own production.

Asessment: Miley Cyrus
Why is the public row between the music artists Sinead O'Connor and Miley Cyrus important in understanding the relationship between artistes and between artiste and audience? Explore with reference to the representation of women, media institutions and the role of the media.
Miley Cyrus latest video music video Wrecking Ball is in very much in controversy as the pop star Miley Cyrus has shown are dramatic change in her image and the public behaviour. this shows the Miley Cyrus alteration into adulthood. Sinead O'Conner music has inspired Miley Cyrus to exposed herself through a very common reality of using your body as an object of sex and many pop stars have again fame through using sexual images in their music video. This is not the first time when we see a woman using sexual images of her to become famous and as we all know sex sells. Miley Cyrus tried to make popular through using sexualise video and he has achieved this as the music video released on 9th September 2013 gained 253,835,822 views in 24 hours.
Many artist have used nude images to make their music video popular and to gain publicity like Rihanna, Nicki Minaj and many more then why we have so much controversy about Miley Cyrus music video this is because Miley Cyrus is well known for her Disney character Hannah Montana which was very popular in young people and become idol for young people. Many people still see her as that innocence and naive character in her. This is where the controversy begins the Wrecking Ball music video is complete opposite of the character Hannah Montana as the public is used to see her that way it is difficult for the audience to take music video which is sexualise.
Wrecking Ball is displaying the theory of 'Male Gaze' by Laura Mulvey, this is to see from the prospective of men, this is way of taking advantage to grip the male audience also this will appeal publicity for the video. Women has taken many parts to attract their audience and to broaden the pay check of those in media. Women have been exploited many times in order to stay in media world and to full fill their dream. This is the way that Miley Cyrus have choose to attract her audience and it looks like she is succeeded with it, has this video have got most views in a short period of time and become no.1 this summer for controversy.
Miley Cyrus have achieved to get publicity, Miley Cyrus's nudity have managed to get the video popular and in controversy, however the controversy are negative therefore Miley Cyrus can loss her young fans who looked up to her as Hannah Montana, on the other hand many young people might follow her steps, therefore she might loss the parent audience as they would have been in favourer of the her as a Disney character but not for what they have seen in this video and would not want they children to be like that.
"The music business doesn't give a shit about you, or any of us. They will prostitute you for all you are worth, and cleverly make you think its what YOU wanted.." Sinead O'Conner.
This statement shows that Sinead O'Conner that she is warning Miley Cyrus not to sell herself and the music industry will make think that that what she want for herself, this suggest that music industry can manipulate you for they benefits and for money they can go to any extent that its takes them to make money out you. this the relation a artist share to another artist to share they experience to young artist to make sure they are not falling for what they have fall for in they previously experience and what mistake they have made and went through. this can help the coming artist and can benefit from they experience and not make the same mistakes as they did.
Sinead O'Conner was disgusted when Miley Cyrus in a interview said that her video is inspired by Sinead O'Conner. Sinead O'Conner was offended by this statement as she felt Miley Cyrus video was no match to hers as Miley Cyrus video is too much about nudity.
In my conclusion if Miley Cyrus have not become famous in Disney as a children idol then she would not have been in critic controversy this is because majority of people still looks her as the children idol and as a child artist, they are avoiding that fact she is a grown up woman now. music industry does not care what is your reputation is or doing is as long as they can make money from the artist and for that they don't have any limits even it have to be nudity. the music video is sending a message on women used for sexual objects where as women is much more then this and they are not an object that can be used and make money out them. Women have much more respect nowadays.

lighting
Lighting
We are going to be using LED coloured lighting which will give a party atmosphere indoor and it will make it look realistic. The coloured lighting can also reflect in emotions and peoples personalty therefore we will be using the light to create tension in scene when the two friends get into fights as there will be dull lighting and cars head light flashing down the road and before that we will be using light to give light mood during the party as many people feel free when they are enjoying with group of friends. while we are changing the lighting during the scene it will not just effect the mood and personalty of our characters but it will also effect the mood of the audience while they are watching the video because light can change the moods of people therefore this will make audience to think deep in the video.

Magazine advert-Layout
We would not like to use the layout above,as there isn't much information on band or music. The whole advert revolves around the band,because its the only main thing you see apart from the quote "In a Neverland kinda of way we haven't had to grow up yet..."
While browsing on NME's website, we came across a few adverts from different magazines. We liked some of the layouts which we can imply to our music advert. The layout above doesn't contain a lot of writing,this grabs the audiences attention because huge picture of the band. we can tell the men in foreground is the protagonist as he is standing out more than the others in the back round. Due to this picture the fans can recognise the band easily.
In this advert, the layout of the page causal than the other adverts. It is like a dairy as there is a picture of the pen on the side with some photographs. It looks like a dairy where someone records their memories.Our music video is based on the concept of 'memories' the idea of having photographs as a layout maybe a good idea because it fits with our theme.

The quarter of the page covers the writing such as the heading and subtitle. "we're writing two new albums" is a very catchy because it makes the audience want to know what the two albums are. It's short but effective. We can use this technique in our music advert for 'the summer war'.
